Transmission Repair Near Me in Colleyville
Why Colleyville Drivers Need Reliable Transmission Repair
Your transmission is the system that transfers engine power to your wheels. When it starts slipping, leaking, or hesitating, every mile you drive without a diagnosis puts more components at risk. Colleyville and Tarrant County roads see heavy stop-and-go traffic along Colleyville Blvd, SH-26, and Glade Road, and that daily driving pattern puts real stress on automatic and CVT transmissions.
Small issues caught early cost far less than a rebuild or replacement down the road.
Eagle Transmission Colleyville offers a free initial transmission diagnostic so you know exactly what you are dealing with before committing to any repair.
Common Transmission Problems We Fix in Colleyville
If you notice any of these symptoms, do not wait. The longer a transmission issue goes unaddressed, the more components become involved in the repair.
- Slipping gears or unexpected gear changes while driving - Delayed or rough shifting between gears
- Transmission fluid leaks under the vehicle
- Burning smell caused by overheating fluid
- Warning lights on the dashboard, including the transmission temperature indicator
- Grinding or whining sounds during acceleration
- RPMs rising without a matching increase in vehicle speed
- Shuddering or vibration when accelerating from a stop
- Difficulty engaging reverse or drive
- Sudden loss of power at highway speeds
We also inspect for torque converter issues, solenoid failure, and worn bands, which are common in high-mileage Tarrant County vehicles and often misdiagnosed as engine problems.

Vehicle Makes and Models We Service
Eagle Transmission Colleyville works on a wide range of domestic and import vehicles. We service cars, trucks, vans, and SUVs from manufacturers including:
If you drive a high-mileage truck, a late-model SUV, or a daily commuter car, our team has the equipment and training to handle your transmission diagnosis and repair.
Colleyville and Southlake drivers with European vehicles are also welcome.
North Texas Heat and What It Does to Your Transmission
Tarrant County summers regularly push above 100 degrees Fahrenheit, and that heat accelerates transmission fluid breakdown faster than almost any other factor.
When transmission fluid degrades, it loses its ability to cool internal components and maintain hydraulic pressure, which leads to slipping, shuddering, and premature wear on clutch packs and solenoids.
Vehicles left in stop-and-go traffic on SH-26, Colleyville Blvd, or TX-121 during Texas summers put constant thermal stress on the transmission cooling system.
Eagle Transmission Colleyville uses manufacturer-specified fluid grades for every service and inspects the transmission cooler on every repair to ensure your system is not running hotter than it should be.

About Eagle Transmission Colleyville
Transmission Repair vs. Rebuild vs. Replacement: What Colleyville Drivers Need to Know
Before approving any transmission work, it helps to understand the difference between a repair, a rebuild, and a replacement. Here is what each option involves and when it applies.
| Option | What It Involves | Best For | Typical Cost Range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Transmission Repair | Fixing a specific failed component: solenoid, sensor, torque converter, fluid leak, or band adjustment | Vehicles with a single identified failure and otherwise healthy transmission | Lower cost, targeted fix |
| Transmission Service | Fluid flush and replacement, filter change, pan inspection, and external adjustments | Preventative maintenance or early-stage slipping and hesitation | Most affordable option |
| Transmission Rebuild | Full disassembly, inspection, replacement of worn internal components, and reassembly to factory spec | Transmissions with widespread internal wear that cannot be resolved with a single repair | Mid to higher range, often preferable to replacement |
| Transmission Replacement | Removing the failed unit and installing a remanufactured or rebuilt replacement transmission | Catastrophic failure or when rebuild is not cost-effective given vehicle value | Highest cost option, evaluated case by case |
What our Customers Say

I went to Eagle Transmission yesterday to take advantage of a special oil change price they offered as I am a previous customer. I had the manual transmission replaced in my 2016 Jeep Patriot about 2 years ago. It has performed flawlessly.
I arrived 5 minutes before my scheduled appointment, the car was brought immediately into a service bay. The oil change was performed quickly, and the technician noted that my ball joints needed replacing. I opted not to perform that service at this time as I only drive the car about 25 miles per week. I had to wait a few minutes for my bill as yesterday was the receptionist's first day of work. The manager arrived to help her process the bill. He informed me the credit card company now charges 3% so I elected the debit card method. He also provided a thank you bag with water and a few small candy treats. An excellent service visit.

We went to Eagle for the first time ever for oil changes on our 2 older cars. We thought we'd try this place since ownership and management at the old place we used had changed and we were met with rudeness and abrasiveness by woman at the front desk. Coincidentally, Eagle also has new ownership and management and we were met with warmth, respect, and honesty by the manager Michelle and the owner David. We observed their similar interaction with another customer in the waiting room. Apparently David and Michelle's business philosophy/model is to build customer loyalty through honesty, respect, fairness. So we hope they continue to do so as we plan to return for our regular car care repairs/maintenance.

Christian was absolutely awesome! I was so nervous about trying a new garage since I just moved to Texas, but I had the best experience. You can instantly tell he has your best interest in mind and goes above and beyond. I had an oil change and an engine light on and they were quick to tell me what was wrong and were able to fix it very quickly. I definitely recommend this garage and I’ll keep coming back!
